AFC Wimbledon Women

Women’s football has a rich history, overcoming numerous challenges to emerge as a prominent sport globally. In the early 20th century, despite its popularity, women’s football faced opposition and was banned by the Football Association (FA) in 1921, lasting until 1971. Despite this setback, the passion and dedication of female players persisted, leading to the establishment of women’s leagues and teams across the world.

Today, AFC Wimbledon Women represents the spirit of resilience and determination in women’s football.
